I'm a multimedia artist interested in the way everyday objects can hold meaning when they're placed together. Lately I've been making still lifes, based on objects that I find at home. I work in paint and charcoal, studying structure, texture, and light. I enjoy having a clear shape to work from and adding a direct sense of unfiltered reality to the setup. I pay attention to the lineup of shapes, the contrasting of surfaces, and changes in lighting that affect the mood of the arrangement. My inspiration comes from the world around me: music, fabric, objects, and the people I interact with daily. I have been using antiques and skulls to make these pieces because I feel it is a really good way to make a narrative, I have done theater most of my life so I think that helps me think of objects in a way that I can make them work together in a scene to tell a story. My goal is to take the familiar and present it in a way that tells a story.
